Living Life Really Is A Bigger Picture!

The following crossed my desk recently, and I immediately thought readers of Career StrataGems! would like to see this:

YOU WILL RECEIVE A BODY.  You may like it or you may hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.  Learn to love yourself completely.

YOU WILL LEARN LESSONS.  You are enrolled in a full-time informal  school called "life."  Each day in this school you'll have the opportunity to learn lessons.  You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.

THERE ARE NO MISTAKES, ONLY LESSONS.  Growth is a process of trial and error and experimentation.  The failed experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately works.

A LESSON IS REPEATED UNTIL LEARNED.  A lesson will be repeated to you in various forms until you have learned it.  When you have learned it, then you can go onto the next lesson.

LEARNING LESSONS DOES NOT END.  There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons.  If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

THERE IS NO BETTER THAN HERE.  When your "there" has become "here," you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here".

OTHERS ARE MERELY MIRRORS OF YOU.  You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something that you love or hate about yourself.

WHAT YOU MAKE OF YOUR LIFE IS UP TO YOU.  You have all the tools and resources you need.  What you do with them is up to you.  The choice is yours.

THE ANSWERS LIE INSIDE YOU.  The answers to all life's questions lie inside you.  All you need to do is look, listen and trust.

YOU WILL FORGET ALL THIS.

As with most messages, remember the formula:   K  -  A  =  O

KNOWLEDGE minus ACTION equals NOTHING!  What does this have to do with your career?  If you’re asking this question, you’ve missed the entire message.

INTERVIEW QUESTION TO PONDER

This was overheard recently at the local bookstore, as a job seeker was describing how he could not answer a question recently asked in an interview:  “If you were a pizza, what part of the pizza would you be, and why?”  You might want to add this to your list of interview questions to be prepared for in the future.  You just might be asked it!  What does it mean?  Depends on which part of the pizza you are.

SIGNALS WE OFTEN IGNORE

For those of you who missed the February Journaling to Self-discovery Program, here are a couple of exercises used that evening.

Journaling Exercise – Part 1

Journal for 10 minutes on the following:

I continue to be resistant when…

Journaling Discussion –

One morning while driving  down Monaco Pkwy, I found myself grabbing for pen and paper.  Here’s what transpired:

"We go about our life oblivious to what’s around us.  We get up to clock radios, watch the morning news, before driving off to work listening to the radio again.  While at work, we play tapes, CDs or listen to music online just to drown out the sound of the computer…  Only to find one day we wake up wondering what happened?  If only I had listened to what life was trying to say to me.  If only I had listened to the sound of the wind.  Instead, I drowned out the sounds that I really needed to hear, the cry from my inner self that said let’s be quiet for a while.   If only I had listened I would have taken a different path. If only I had listened my road would be more traveled, my destiny achieved.  If only I had listened, I’d be there by now!"

Journaling Exercise – Part 2

Spend the next 10 minutes journaling about signals – some we understand some we ignore. Complete the following statement:

If only I had listened …

A LIVING EXAMPLE OF EMBRACING CHANGE

Some of you may already know that I’ve made a major life decision to relocate to the east coast (my home State of New Jersey) to be closer to the ocean and pursue my passion for writing.   After living out west for 25+ years, this was one of the toughest decisions I’ve made in years.  Hopefully, I can continue to be an inspiration to all of those wishing to make changes, and especially those of you who follow my work.   I depart in June.

With all the changes I am personally and professionally experiencing, you may have a few questions.  Hopefully I can answer them here:  I have closed my Career Coaching and Resume Writing business in the Denver area as well as no longer scheduling workshops until I’m settled in my new location.  Journaling to Self-discovery exercises may periodically appear in this newsletter and may eventually be an online program.  If you’re concerned about the website: www.careeradvice.com, it will continue to be a resource for those in career transition, providing job search, career change and career development information.  I'll be working on Career Consulting projects in my new area through networking contacts.  Stay tuned, my personal and professional transition could just be another book!

Considering I’ve taken my own advice in living and working my passion, if you haven’t already purchased your copy of “How To Live and Work Your Passion and Still Earn a Living,” purchase your copy online today.   Order Now!

Hope this finds you living and working your passion – everyday!

Warmest Regards,

Rosemary Augustine
